Kuznetsov Pavel Nikolaevich (1909-1967) – journalist, writer, poet, translator
He was born in the Soldatov village of the Michael Archangel Parish of Ust-Kamenogorsk district (now Katonkaragay district of East Kazakhstan oblast). During the First World War, his family moved to Ust-Kamenogorsk and in 1924 in Semey.
In the newspapers of Irtysh region was appeared his passionate stories, articles, essays, satires: «The Turkish commissioner», «Patriarch with Uba thresholds», «Owners of gold veins», «Pine Forest», «Potholes building sites». In twenty years, he became deputy editor of the newspaper «Lenin change». In 1930, he worked in the offices of the Samara newspaper «Kolkhoz newspaper» and «Volga commune» and Kazan «Red Tatarstan». In 1935 he returned to Almaty and worked in the newspaper edition «Kazakhstanskaya Pravda». He was the first editor, journalist and poet of the division newspaper «For the Motherland». On 31March, 1943 he was appointed war correspondent of the newspaper «Pravda».
Pavel Kuznetsov left a significant legacy in the field of journalism and literature and literary criticism, collections of essays «From Alma-Ata to Berlin» (1945), «The Great Friendship» (1948), «Hero of the Soviet Union I.V. Panfilov» (1948). He is the author of poetry collections «Nugget» (1937), «On the Irtysh shore» (1940), «Soldier's notebook» (1944), «Way-road» (1946), «Road book» (1962 ).
He translated lyrics of akyns: Orumbay, Tayzhan, Almabek, Karatay, Sartay.
In 1950 was published the first, in 1952 the second book by P. Kuznetsov. «Zhambyl is grandson of Istybay». In 1953 the novel was called «Man finds happiness».

Kulakhmet Gabiden (1955-2006) – poet, writer
He was born in the Sholpan village of Ayagoz district of East Kazakhstan oblast.
After graduating the journalism faculty of Kazakh State University named after Al-Farabi and Higher literary courses at the Moscow Literary Institute named after Gorky, he worked as an editor of the publishing house «Zhalyn», and in the Committee for publishing, printing and the book trade, on the Kazakh television.
Since 1990 he was in Union writers of Kazakhstan. In 1990-1995 he was the main founder of the center «Kazakh youth and business». In 1996-2001 he was the deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan. In 1996 he was elected secretary of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan.
His first poems were published in the collective anthologies «Twelve months of the year» (1969), «Breath of Spring» (1975). He is the author of poetry collections «Light of the eyes» (1978), «Bright Beginning» (1980), «Fellow Test». He is the author of the collections of short stories «The sunken in the lake village» (1989), «Don’t interrupted your offspring» (1991), «Testing the strength of men» (1994), «The last message of the poet» (1998). In 2001 he published the novel «Lone Wolf».
His works have been translated into Russian, Polish, Mongolian, Chechen, Ukrainian and Belarusian languages. He was twice winner of the contest of the publishing house «Zhalyn». He was the winner of the international literary prize «Alash» (2003).

Kumarbekov Muslim (1939) – a writer
He was born in the Shymkora village of Ulan district of East Kazakhstan oblast. After graduating the secondary school, he worked in the collective farm named after Zhambyl. After graduating the journalism faculty, for a long time he worked in the newspaper «Flag of Communism» (now «Didar»). Later, he worked as a deputy chief editor of the national literary and cultural and social magazine «Irtysh».
He is the author of «Laughing girl» (1969), «Coast youth», «Shynar», «Wild Irtysh» (1974), «My Altai is golden cradle», «House at the cliff», «Misery», «Chinara» (1978).
He is a member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, winner and member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan.

Ilya Pavlovich Kulev (1953) – poet, journalist.
He was born on July 1, 1953 in the village of Turgusun, Altai district, East Kazakhstan region.
He graduated from Turgusunsuk Secondary School (1961 to 1969). In different years he studied at higher educational institutions: EKSU named after S. Amanzholov, Ust-Kamenogorsk Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Technology (1971 to 1976), Faculty of Journalism (1982 to 1986).
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (1982 to 1986) (former KazGU named after S.M. Kirov, Almaty.
Kulev I. P. laureate of the Akim of the East Kazakhstan region Award "For Contribution to the development of Journalism" (2013), chairman of the jury of the International Festival of Arts "Golden Turgusun", member of the Union of Writers of Russia and Kazakhstan
Ilya Pavlovich is the author of the poetry collections "Turgusun – Bukhtarma", "Ascent of the Soul", "Fair of Love", "Colors of Life", "Shorter, please". He was published in almanacs and literary publications of Kazakhstan and Russia. Laureate and diploma winner of several international literary competitions. In 2011, he became a prize-winner of the International Competition of Russian-language literature held by the literary agency "New Writers" (Moscow). More than 50 songs have been written on Ilya Kulev's poems, which are performed by many singers from far and near abroad. A researcher by nature, Kulev collected the richest history of our region bit by bit, which eventually led to the birth of the book "The Kerzhach Seed", which will tell about the development and formation of our region and much more.
Currently lives in Ust-Kamenogorsk

Kumaruly Kap (1933-2009) – poet, teacher.
He was born on March 8, 1933 in the town of Koktogai, Altai District of the People's Republic of China. In 1955 he graduated from the Teacher training School of Mongolia. In 1955-2005 he was engaged in teaching. The Ministry of Education of Mongolia awarded him the title of "Excellent Student of Education of Mongolia". In 1992, he was awarded the title of "Advanced Teacher" of the Bayan-Olga district. Winner of the district, republican poetry competitions.
In 1992-2005, he moved to his historical homeland, worked at a secondary school in the village of Kainar, Abyralinsky district (now belongs to the territory of Semey) East Kazakhstan region, taught Kazakh language and literature in Kokozek secondary school of Urdzhar district, educated thousands of students.
In the same years, K. Kumaruly wrote a textbook "Halyktyk pedagogy – ulttyk kazyna", with the approval of the Regional Department of Education, the book was recommended as an auxiliary aid to teachers of the 19th school of Urdzhar district.
The Regional Department of Education highly appreciated the labor contribution of the oldest teacher to the education of Kazakhstan – K. Kumaruly was awarded a "Certificate of Honor".
The author of the poetry collections "Kyzyl Tu", "Kos kanat", "Kos ishek", "Kariboz", "Taudai bolgym keledi", "Arpa ker".
Prize-winner of poetry competitions of Bayan-Olgiysky district and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan.
